What We Provide
Skill Building: Build on what you’ve gained through lessons, practice, and ensembles. Summer Music Camp allows you to exercise the skills you’ve learned during the year and to learn NEW skills that will make you better prepared to start the next school year.
Local/Established Training: Our faculty are local school music educators and/or Sarasota Orchestra musicians who are HIGHLY respected in their areas of expertise.
Instruction at All Levels: We cover all the bases, from beginner through advanced levels. With EIGHT ENSEMBLES, all students will be placed in a full ensemble with students at the same ability. No other camp offers this many levels or guarantees a full ensemble experience for all students.
Maximized Time: Our new format for full days will provide 70 hours of music instruction, nearly doubling our format from years past.
Music Theory: It’s an essential skillset and we make it an integral part of our Summer Music Camp.
Elective Classes: Music Appreciation, Music History, Sight Singing, Ear Training, Rhythm, World Drumming, Jazz Ensemble, and Full Orchestra are all part of our format, though the options vary from year to year. We guarantee you’ll love every class!
Each participant in the Summer Music Camp program pays a tuition of $330. This is in addition to the $25 application fee and is due upon invoice.
The $330 tuition is only a fraction of the actual cost to the Sarasota Orchestra per student. Through the generosity of many donors and numerous foundations, we are able to off-set tuition expenses.
Scholarships are offered to assist families who are in need of financial support and are made available by the generosity of private donors and grants (see form on application).
Do you know a student that would enjoy being a part of our program? Help us spread the word and receive $20 off your tuition for each new student.
Example: Talk with 5 new students that meet the requirements and receive $100 off your tuition.
